I've managed to find an Samsung LE26R73BD for £589 after using some discount codes but wondered if there was anything else I should be looking at?

Do you really think you could live with a display size that small when watching 2.35:1 material?

The only suggestion i would make is to go for a slightly larger second hand screen if thats the top budget, the screen you have chosen is actually very good, its just too small for ultra wide video assuming a normal-ish lounge setup and a seating distance of say 2-3m :)

It's for my bedroom so probably never more than 1 meter away perched on the edge of my bed. Most of the time, until we get freeview it'll be used for gaming.

Got the same screen at the same price and from the same place by the looks. Should be here wednesday, and its gonna be used mainly for gaming also.

I realise your thread title says 26", and you're probably already aware of this, but you can get the LE32R73BD for £729 if your budget can stretch to it. Mine comes tuesday.

Ive got a Samsung 27" LCD-TV LE27T51B (£529)

Very impressed with it, bargain price, and HD-Ready through the DVI.

I got the tape measure out and it would look stupid in my room so it's not an option :(

I got the 26 inch version over the 32 inch purely due to it's size. The 26 inch in our main bedroom looks right, the 32 would have been too big. I've been more than happy with mine :D

Another thing though, is the panel in the 32" is the newer one, the 26" just has the normal one.
