Not seen a thread about this choice so thought I'd throw the question in and see what responses I got...

Currently have an 8800GTX, game at 1920 x 1200.

Is there as much o/c headroom in the 275? Will an o/c'd 260 be comparable with a 275?

I don't want to SLI in the future so would prefer the best bang for buck single card solution.

My GTX260 overclocked on stock fan beats GTX280's and matches some GTX285 so GTX260 all the way for the win!

Id definitely go with the gtx 260, especially when compared to the 275 price.

Off topic, Greebo, did you ever bench your gtx 260 overclocks in 3dmark06 with the q6600 @3.8 ghz?

If the 275 was around the £180 mark I'd probably go for that, but at £50 less the 260 edges it at the moment.

Don't think I could ever justify tri-SLI 295's, irrespective of how much cash I had. :)

No just at 3.5Ghz my day to day overclock. Can;t be bothered benching tbh, too busy playing

Same here, i was curious as to what your combo would achieve compared to a gtx 280, as you have some nice clocks on the 260gtx, i ran mine once with the q6600 at 3.8ghz and the gtx 280 at 714/1251/1504, score of 19494.
