So I'm reviving some old equipment to do a retro build which will double up as an home general use pc and a cheap gaming rig for older games

Couple of questions

I want to overclock it I had a previous 2600k at 5ghz that saw some big gains in performance. I'm looking for cooler recommendations, will the thermalright assassin king se at £17 do the job for a high overclock or will I need something bigger like the phantom spirit se?

What's the best possible ram and GPU I can go with for this set up basically wanted to get it as good as it can be Motherboard is Asus genie v.

As I understand it the 2600k is soldered and overclocks very well on average and there is very little difference in performance between them at stock but I've got an untested 3770k that came with some spare parts I bought any reason to go with that over the 2600k I don't want to generate any unnecessary heat in a fairly small form factor build and don't want to delid or anything.

3770k will likely need to be delidded and liquid metal applied. If you want to consider it I did a guide a few years ago here: https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/adventures-in-delidding.18889930/

I used it to replace a 2500k (that was OC'd to 4.5 gHz) as it was throttling my 5700XT and saw a significant improvement with the 3770k.

If you are going with a 2600k then probably something around RX580 spec would be a good match.
For RAM - DDR3 1866 I think. Is it a Z77 MB?
It's the Z77 yes. I have two 2600k chips and one 3770k to test out.

Got 16gb of ripjaws 1600mhz that came with the MB assuming I can oc these to 1833? The ddr3 is so cheap now is it worth getting 32 for it? Can these CPU's handle 32 and would it make a noticeable difference in performance.
