2600k Build seems slow...

Just put together the following:-

2600k
MSI Z68 GD80 G3
8GB 1600mhz Corsair Vengeance LP

And my baseline performance seems slow. I have the bios set at default settings, bar turning on AHCI and turning off the second ethernet and onboard audio, and I'm scoring less in both SuperPI and Cinebench than I believe I should. Could anyone run some tests with their 2600k's at stock for comparison?

I get about 5.40 on Cinebench 64 bit on the Multithreaded CPU test. And I get about 11-12 seconds for 1M SuperPi.

From what I've seen online Cinebench should be over 6, and SuperPi 1M should be more in the range of 9-10 seconds.

Yep, HT is on, XMP is on so memory is running at 1600mhz as it should be. All drivers are the latest from MSI's website running Win7 Ultimate N X64 SP1. I'm really stumped, unless most of the benches I've been looking at have been wrong...

I dropped my 2600K down to stock and ran CB 11.5 scored 6.86pts
Superpi 1M 10.015s

My board is also MSI but not the same model p67 gd65.

If you want any more tests done be quick about it, it wont be running stock very long :)

Thanks man, that confirms something's not right. You using stock WP7, or SP1? Maybe it's a software issue? Should I try a reinstall and run the benches again from a fresh install?

Yes W7 SP1

Try opening up CPUz when you testing to make sure the cpu clock is running at the correct frequency.

Should be 3.4 + turbo boost so 3.6Ghz.
