Saw the 2600k for 20 pounds off yesterday, went to but it this morning and realised it was only for yesterday, I thought it was part of the weekly offers.

Should I wait for the 2600k to be on offer again or just go for the 2700k on offer atm?

The 2600K was a 10er cheaper yesterday though! I'm thinkin it might be on special again on Wednesday! Sure I suppose the 19 quid off the 270k is a good deal aswell! I'll just go for it.

The 2700k is at a nice price at the moment, you'll probably beable to get 100 mhz or so more out of it when overclocking than a 2600k! :)

Third party thermal paste will give you a temperature difference of a few degrees at most...

I'd say just use the paste that comes with the cooler and if you think it's really underperforming then consider third party paste...

I would just go with the cheaper of the two especially if the 2600k is the retail version. It's look of the draw on how good either will overclock. My 2600k will bench at 5.4 GHz and runs at 4.8 GHz 1.38v 24/7.

Sorry I should have mentioned I have an Antech Kuhler so I need new paste! I know it's luck of draw but the 2700k is 1.50 extra today so I'm going to go with it!

Just noticed there's nothing in it price wise between the two this week, so you may aswell go for the 2700k as you say. Iv'e used both the MX4 and the IC Diamond 24-Carat Thermal with my Noctua D14 and the difference in temps was negligible. I would just go with the MX4 personally, you wont be disappointed.
