right i seem to be having a special moment with regards to overclocking my i7 2600k

im running the asrock z68 fatality mobo and im hitting 4.7ghz wall, i have set core to multi 47 and offset to +0.020 for my 4.7 oc and the llc option to 3 (goes 1 - 5 in the bios options)

now i tried 48 with same settings and it froze on the windows is loading screen. tried offsets of .025, .030 and .035 and on 035 it gets to windows login and bsod with the 124 code

i have set cpu pll to 1.750 as i hear this is advised to help temps. im running a custom wc loop with max load temps in IBT of 50,58,54,57 so i know my temps are well within the limits of the cpu!

anyone wanna give me a hand getting this up and beyond 4.8 please :)

I think you may have hit the wall that some, including me, hit above a certain speed and voltage.

For example, I can hit 4.8ghz with ease at 1.32v, yet to hit 4.9-5.0ghz I require a hefty voltage bump to around 1.4v to get it stable.

would removing all my c states help at all? and what offset you think i should try it on? or would i be better going fixed vcore for above 4.7?

removing the c states will defo help yes, some chips are good, some like mine don't overclock too well. I have to use 1.46v - 1.52v when going above 4.7. Currently on 4.9ghz on 1.48v. But ive used more voltage than that. Been doing so for about a year without issues. I don't use offset myself

i have managed 5ghz at 1.5v but im sure there is some way to go about this to lower the vcore to get it more stable. im also sure there is a way to get it stable still using the c states and speedstep! the playing about with settings continues :/

I've got the 2600k running at 4.7ghz @ 1.250v in "Arma 2:OA",thats only 0.020v more than stock 1.230v. I studying on how to go higher...

I only interested in having a overclock profile for Arma 2:OA & 3(upon release) in "Ai Suite 2" to activate when needed due to the CPU frequency bottlenecking Arma 2:OA/3...
