Hi Guys,

Looking to upgrade my 2600k oced to 4.5ghz with a new ryzen 3600, just have a couple of questions (been reading conflicting stuff). Should i be getting a x570 or something like a MSI B450 Tomahawk? Also should i be looking at 3200mhz ram or 3600? I won't be getting any pci-e storage anytime soon and will be using a rx580 as the gpu, pc is literally just used for browsing + games.

Depends. There are some good cheap X570 boards like the Asrock Phantom Gaming @ £164, ofc the B450 Tomahawk at £80s cannot be beaten for the price which will be fine with the 3600.
RAM wise, because the memory controller is on the CPU, a 3600C16 is good choice, with bit tweaking you could try to push it to 3733C17/3733C16.
If you save money going for the B450 option, get good rated ram imho. :)

That makes sense, if i was to go with the x570 then would there be much difference between having 3200 instead of 3600?

Reading through the reviews, the difference seems to be negligible. 3600 is the most optimal performance wise, but 3200 would be like 1fps difference, for a much cheaper price especiallyi(you require 32gigs).

With a RX580, you are looking at hardly a 1fps difference between 3200 and 3600 MHz and for the cost, I would just go with the 3200MHz as that would be well more than sufficient.

Also, pointless to spend the same amount of money as a graphics card on the Motherboard. A B450 would be more than enough to pair with a Ryzen 3600 and a RX 580.
