I am going to be buying a 2600k, if I am using a performance graphics card that I already have is there any point in me buying the HD3000 version over the HD2000 one?

the k version is the HD 3000
the non k version is the HD 2000
but to answer what i think your asking
your better off keeping your own GPU but the k version allows for overclocking
so it depends if you intend to overclock or not
