I've reecantly upgraded my bro's computer gfx card to a Asus 260 GTX TOP which he use to have a ATI 3850,
atm he is only useing a 17" screen (going to get a 22" later on in the year)

I've set the resalution to 1280x1024

The problem is every time he turns the computer on the resalution go's to 800x600 i think but every thing goes really big the icons and that :(

I've tryed re-installing the drivers (190.38) but that didn't help all the old ATI drives are off so i don't no whats going on really :(

??

Edit: he's only useing VGA on the screen so he has VGA>DVI adapter on gfx card.

Have you tried running something like Driver cleaner/Driver Sweeper to be sure?

I would also try installing an older driver, to see. If needs be a Vista driver to see if that makes a difference (it'll work fine).

yes i did try driver sweeper + older 186 driver too didn't really no much.

The only thing i did think of was updateing the mobo drives (flashing the BIOS) ? but that probably woundn't help

I think its got to be a drive issue,
I installed 190.38 + the CUDA which theres the CUDA driver + CUDA toolkit + CUDA SDK code samples.

his computer spec's

AMD Althon X2 4200+
2GB 6400 DDR2
Gigabyte GA-M61P-S3
ASUS 260GTX TOP
Vista 64bit

+ i'll try Driver Cleaner

I had the exact same problem but the problem went away with reinstalling drivers. Maybe check Run>Msconfig>startup programs and disable any Nvidia things and hope it goes away.
