Hi all,

I've recently had my Asus VG278HE 27" TRUE 144Hz 3D Widescreen LED Monitor.

However, for this lovely monitor, if you're looking to use it for watching movies, the light bleed is so bad, it distracts from the movie. Gaming & FPS is perfect.

I've RMA'd it and the new one has come back with the same problem, so I'm in the market for a monitor that has no light bleed issues and will be happy at 120Hz, when I return it to OCUK for a swap.

Can someone spec me a monitor that's 120Hz, 27" and runs at 1920x1080, with little to no input lag or light bleed?

I'm not interested in a higher resolution, due to my pretty ****** eyes and the eye strain of anything smaller for me. (each to their own!).

I'm thinking Samsung at the moment, since I have an 24" LCD 4 year old one which hasn't had any screen probs. What do you think?

Input lag rough figures for 27" 120hz models:

Samsung - 13ms
Iiyama - 8ms
Asus - 2-4ms

The only other option is the Acer, but no-ones measured that. Few people even own it.

Ok, so I basically have the best input lag with my current Asus, but definitely need to change it.

I've always liked Iiyama, so may start looking at those. Any particular models people have the greatest respect for in terms of speed?

I keep hearing reviews that all LED monitors have bleed problems? even if it just slightly, but they all have them? It's how the technology is built, apparently?

Not all do, no. They are more prone to it sometimes as they are often built to be very thin. Thin means they are more prone to being flexed and are easier to damage during transportation and post-manufacture. It is often sensible to assume that you will get some degree of excess backlight bleed-through but it is something that affects some CCFL-backlit models and some LED-backlit models.

That's a bit of a shame really. I'll see how I get along with some other 120Hz models.

Cheers for your input!
