I'm speculatively looking at a monitor upgrade and these are the specs I'm looking at. I've only ever had cheap monitors. Currently HP x22 from about 6 years ago or more. Just a basic 1080p 60hz IPS monitor.
So i imagine any monitor in this range would be a hefty upgrade. To be honest I will looking for a budget price in this range which appear to be around £280-320. If you were to get a budget model with those specs what would be your go to monitor and which ones would you avoid like the plague?

Well I might have gone mad but i went and bought this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/aoc-a...een-led-backlit-gaming-monitor-mo-05b-ao.html
I just kept looking and this eventually looked like the monitor that suits what i wanted best.
As stated in the title it's got it all. I also like the fact it's a VA panel as i prefer the more natural colours and my room isn't always the brightest plus closing curtains isn't a big issue for me. I also had a preference towards a flat screen as well, I almost bought the curved version at £300 on the rainforest but it sold out. Plus reviews i have seen say this one is just that bit better. (Me trying to justify the extra £40 to myself) . It's still got excellent response times not quite as fast as IPS but still very good. Plus freesync 2 and works with g sync. From 2 reviews it has superb colour accuracy out the box and although only HDR 400, apparently it actually can work a bit on this monitor whereas in other monitor reviews in this price bracket it has basically just been a waste of time, not that I'm really fussed by it. All the RGB stuff is wasted on me as I'm just as likely to turn it off. Good build quality as well.
I hope I won't be disappointed. Compared to what I have been using I doubt I will be.
