Hi I'm looking for some help I don't know much about monitors.
My old Samsung 305T 30.5" (2,560 x 1,600) has packed up all of a sudden, I have a spare Dell 24" but I will need to get a new monitor at some point.
I think a 27"-32" screen with a adjustable stand would be best size for myself but you have so many features and prices varied so much, I have no idea what to look for. so Im looking for some advice, what to look for.

Questions
Aspect Ratio what's the difference in use ?
What Display Technology would be best ?
Ultrawide, curved are they useful ?
Should I consider used or only new ?

Budget ? at the moment I don't have one but would like to keep costs low if possible.
For gaming, movies, normal PC use maybe some editing

My pc spec, things may change later
CPU: Ryzen 5800x
Motherboard: Asus crosshair VI hero wi-fi ac
Ram: Teamgroup Dark Pro 16GB 3200
GPU: GeForce GTX TITAN X
PSU: 850w XFX
SSD: 1tb M.2 Nvme 980

Your problem is same as that of me:
With marketing scammers cutting vertical resolutions really only one, which isn't downgrade is 3840x2160.
(ultra low screens hogging 40" worth of space are even more expensive)

Though unlike my Dell U3014 covering basically both AdobeRGB and DCI-P3, you don't have that demanding starting position and even average gamut monitor would be at least as good.
So LGs and Innolux panel based 28" and 32" models would be improvemens.

Without going for outdated tech response times choises for me are either Acer X32 FP, or Coolermaster Tempest GP27U and compromising in viewing distance to compensate for smallish size.

27" 16:9 is ~7cm smaller in image height than 30" 16:10.
32" 16:9 would be under half centimer lower.
27" one needs to be 16% closer to show in same size.

For me the issue is cost, I don't think I could spend a £100s on a screen with things how they are going. so I would need to look at the budget end, 3840x2160 would be nice but I don't think I could get it at low-price and still get a large screen unless some great deal comes along.
