Does anyone have experience with running 2560x1440p on a 27" Asus VG278Q? Any problems? I don't need the 1440p for gaming (I'd just run games in 1080p) but for more workspace while working in Photoshop, After Effects etc.
Does down/super sampling have anything to do with the monitor in the first place? Will it work on some, while not on others?
With the MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G, I run 2560x1440 on a crappy Samsung 24" monitor just fine along with a 27" LCD TV as the secondary monitor, also on 2560x1440p. But before investing in a new monitor, having 1440p is crucial as I need the workspace.
At the same time, I'd like to kill two birds with one stone. Namely, with VG278Q I hope to get a 27" 1920x1080 144hz monitor for occasional gaming and a 2560x1440p monitor that provides me with the workspace I need while working.
My configuration
Motherboard: ASROCK Z77 Extreme 4
CPU: i7 3770k @ 4.5GHz
CPU cooler: CoolerMaster EVO 212
GPU: MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G
Drives: A mix of 2 SSDs and several HDDs
PSU: CoolerMaster SilentPro 650W
RAM: HypeX Savage 32GB @ 2400mhz
Thanks in advance for any help
