Looks like I'll shortly be replacing my now ancient 22" monitor.
Am presently looking at a Gsync and believe I'll have the required dosh for the 27" Rog Swift.

I've scanned the 185 page thread on the monitor and perhaps understandably have concerns based upon the number of issues raised about the PSU, dead pixels and similar.

Anyone happy to suggest an alternative that might be a better fit?

Note that initially I'll be using with an non-freesync capable AMD 280x GPU, but intend to replace that with a 970 later this year.

Thoughts?

Assuming you mean the TN there is now the option of the Dell equivalent https://www.overclockers.co.uk/dell...reen-led-monitor-midnight-grey-mo-084-de.html which has the addition of a HDMI port as well.

While I have reservations about this monitor due to the issues - my first one died in the manner many of them do - my current RMA replacement is exceptional for a TN and due to a lighter anti-glare coating a lot better image quality than my old Swift - so aslong as it doesn't die as well there isn't anything else out at the moment that would be a substitute IMO.

All monitors similar in specs will have the same issues, it's not like Asus suddenly sucks for that monitor alone. All you can do is test & return if you're not happy with it.

I'd avoid the Asus ROG monitors, everyone I know (and myself) has had problems with them and had to RMA them :/

Go with the Dell. Your unlikely to get issues with their monitors and their warranty/support is way better.

Never had a problem with my Asus Swift. Wonderful monitor.

Am looking to add 2 more Swift to my set up.
