im looking at going from Asus VN279Q 27" (27" 1920x1080) to 29UM68-P 29" (29" 2560x1080).

im trying to google but i cant find any results matching my search. freesync and the higher resolution would be really nice to try.

what do you think?

ive got the asus 27" one. so sort of an upgrade. i find the pixel density fine.

i was worried it may not be as tall as the 27" asus i have.

i dont know why but im not interested in a curved screen.

so im guna get the £260 one. will have to wait a couple of weeks.

thanx for the tips guys.

For a smaller screen, sure. But over a certain size, I think it's worthwhile. Had a 24" flat, then 24" curved (that size curved is a bit daft) but with 27" curved it's worthwhile. The curved has 10 bit panel and is more accurate too. Although I do understand there is a fair difference in price.

29" UW is too short vertically as well, it feels VERY cramped. 24" 16:9 is same height as 29" UW

Also if you have a 27" already, you are dropping down in vertical size

this is exaclty why i created the thread. im not sure i could deal with the screen being shorter. gutted now lol guna have to save up some more cash :S

EDIT - woah, the price difference for next size up is nearly £200...

hmm that doesnt seem as much smaller as i though. maybe i can cope with it.

EDIT - it seems there are not many 32" uw monitors. havent found one yet lol

its just for gaming. i do already have a couple of monitors but my gaming space is not big enough to fit multi monitors :(

damn i really had my hopes up for this. i guess by the time i save there will be more choice and better monitors maybe even a £260 34" freesync ultrawide monitor.
