Hi

Will be buying in the next two weeks. :)

I am looking at a few 27" monitors:
Asus VE276Q http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-030-AS&tool=3
Iiyama ProLite E2773HDS http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-077-IY&groupid=17&catid=1120&subcat=
LG E2770V-BF

What would you recommend? The closer to £200, the better, but I could perhaps stretch to £250 or a little more. Would appreciate suggestions within and also slightly above budget if worth it.

Also, is it worth going for a 27" over a 24"?

Uses include mainly office/uni work (word processing) and gaming of course. :D Also films and such like too.

Thanks. :)

The iiyama is great, just look at the reviews. I have one myself as well as a Hazro which cost a few hundred more and honestly there isn't a night and day difference. The hazro has slightly better colours etc but saying that the iiyama seems to have faster response if my MW3 scores are anything to go by.

I was in the same situation last week.
Iiyama was really pick of the bunch, if you want Asus look at the VE278Q over the 276 as the 278 is LED backlit where the 276 isn't.

I bought the 27" Iiyama Prolite E2710HDS from here when it was on offer last time, really happy with the screen, was uber bright at default but can be adjusted, set colors into mode 2 and the colors are excellent, picture is great, not a single dead pixel. The only negative thing is the viewing angles but if you live with them then you will be very happy. Great screen for the price!

It's definitely worth the 27" over the 24", get a much better sense of scale in games, more immersive, think 30" would perhaps be to big for desk, 27" is about the sweet spot :)

I think 4 inches is a bit much, I have two of these on a dual 'trader' stand and I'd say 2.5-3" thick, only got an early piccie of my setup but the width you can see if uniform all the way accross, only got a thumbnail too :(

great monitors and so good for the price, I play bf3 on them all day long I'm just waiting for a decent deal on a 30" centre screen and I'll move to eyefinity
