I have been given a 27" iMac with a 4850 graphics card. The display works ok although is very sluggish while refreshing images in safe mode. Trying to get in to normal OSX results in a total garbled display.
Short of finding a replacement card which seem ridiculously expensive!, is there anything worth a try?
I have read a lot about people baking their cards to reflow solder and replacing thermal materials, any one tried it?
