Am I being silly thinking this would be a good upgrade?

Has anyone on here done this, if yes are you happy with the jump to superwide?

If gaming is your primary use. Yes do it. Desktop wise it's taking me a good while to adjust. Cost out of the picture 21.9 is the future I'm sure.

It is yeah, after watching a few videos some people saying some games inc some AAA don't support the superwide format. :(

Some out of the box don't support it but a simple. .ini edit usually sorts it.

Fallout 4 was one of them iirc. I don't mind some slight tweaks but it would get annoying after a while having to tweak most games to get them working at the right res.

Once you go Superwide it's hard to go back...it's just the cost of the x34 it's daylight robbery

It is but if I move the ROG Swift on and deduct that off it's not that much more than I paid for the ROG, makes it sound easier on the wallet that way anyway :p

I'd wait for the Asus version next month. I had the Acer and took it back after abysmal QC issues.

They are both outstanding monitors tho, I'm moving from x3 surround and I couldn't go back to a single 16:9/10 screen now. These are the perfect compromise.

I did the same upgrade and am more than happy, yes it was a lot of money but I think it was money well spent.

Glad your happy with it, take some getting used to?

Tbf Asus have had issues with QC also with the swift range, if you drop on a good one great which I did but others had no end of issues with it.

I don't think I could go back now, playing 16:9 feels like tunnel vision, 21:9 took no getting used to at all, it fills your vision perfectly feels so natural. Never had a problem in all the AAA games I've played to date with 21:9.

The stand on the X/R34 takes lots of space on your desk and the menu is horrible, other than that it's been the single best addition to my PC gaming since the 8800GTX

You'll only ever access the menu to set things up. People always mention it (and it's a pain to navigate, yes), but hardly a turn off!

Worth it, up to you as the cost is enormous, however it's a fantastic monitor, and I'll be sticking with 21:9. 1440 pixels is roughly enough in terms of height (1600 is ideal), the extra width allows for three browser windows or four 80 column text windows. For gaming...others have covered it, little more to say.

The only warning I can give is that for higher settings for demanding games, SLI is a good idea (even then in GTA V I'm jumping between 55-85fps, and 55fps is still horrible, even with G-Sync).
