hi all, i need to buy a 27" monitor that supports rotation 90 degrees so it can be used portrait on a desk.

ideally it will have the stand that supports this in the box so i don't have to mess about with VESA desktop stands/mounts. having trouble finding VESA desktop stand that support over 24" anyway.

does anyone know of such a monitor?

thank you :D

The Dell and HP 27"ers should have this built in.

On a side note, the 24" limit on stands is a load of rubbish tbh, you need to go by the max weight. The 24" vesa stands are usually rated at up to 8KG and a Dell U2711 for example is 7.7kg (which possibly includes the stand it already has).

With what resolution, at 2560x1440 there are the
and a whole lot more but let's not mention those are they are over £1000.

1920x1080:
First list is more expensive but you get more than just the resolution, you also get a panel that doesn't look bad in portrait mode. They have an IPS-panel.

Second list has a TN-panel, TN-panels are known for their bad viewing angles, especially the vertical viewing angle. Due to the screen-size and the fact that you're rotating them this weakness will become very apparent.

The HP zr2740w makes no mention of supporting it so I'm assuming it doesn't. The Dell u2711 doesn't support it for sure, the 22/23/24" ultrasharps do support, the 27/30" don't.
Going by max-weight is a bad idea if you want a portrait mode option, my Ergotron Desk Mount MX does support monitors up to 13.6KG but there is no way I can turn my Hazro HZ27WD (27") 90 degrees. I don't think any desk-mounted monitor arm does.. some wallmounts could be positioned so it would be possible although I don't know if they can be put in a comfortable landscape position then.

the Hazro metal 30" stand will be available to buy as an option and our research shows there aren't (if any) adjustable stands that truly support +10kg monitors. The ones that do will probably hold the monitor but it will wobble and shake with the slightest touch.

Do you need the stand to rotate - or will it be used in portrait mode permanently?

If its a permanent portrait monitor, could you not get a non-rotating VESA desk mount or arm which offers enough clearance from the desk in portrait mode (and can hold a heavy monitor like one of these 27 inchers) - and attach it to it while the monitor is orientated in portrait?

Even if it doesn't need to rotate I seriously doubt you'd be able to find a stand that offers that much clearance. The VESA mounting pattern is however perfectly square so any wall mount screwed to some wooden pole or metal-beam or whatever would work.
