Hi, has anyone here tried 270 crossfire? Can imagine it would give pretty good (> single 290x) performance for about £260. Would be quite to hear anything but most reviews online are from 270x crossfire. Coming from a single 7950. I have the chance of another matching 7950 but would need a new PSU for that. Thanks

Don't think it's quite up there with single 290x performance is it?

Regardless, if it was my money, I'd sell your current 7950 now while the mining craze is still in effect.

Put the money towards a 290/290X.

Tbh I went from a 270x to a 280x and in 99% of the games I play I couldnt tell the difference so id say 2x 270s in xfire would give some major bang for buck gaming

What cpu have you got?

2500k @ 4.5 ghz. Will be going I7 at some point but after my holiday is paid ha

If you're going down the crossfire route you'll need an i7 to get the most from it. However rather than getting a 270X or an i7, you could just get a single 290 and get similar performance and avoid any possible multi gpu complications. If not then 270X and an i7 crossfire will give you a nice gaming experience.

LOL we all get the upgrade bug :P As said single GPU I think is always preferable to multi-setup to avoid issues.

2 270x will cost around £260 were as a 290 will cost £360, so yes I can see the saving.

A single 290 would leave the option to get an other one down the road were as 2 270s means upgrading them both next time and selling to recover the cost.

Maybe as suggested upgrade something else in the system to quell your upgrade need....Im waiting on the rog swift monitor and a new GPU, I check each day for news LOL, just had to order some new case fans to play with while I wait....Cheap short term fix :p

Yeah good shout on some small things like case fans. All this money and my rig is mostly used by my little boy playing Lego batman etc haha.

haha, well its your money so obviously feel free to spend it :)

Just trying to help and suggest cheaper options :P
