Looking at the batch number and it turns out to be a Costa Rica week 38 which I believe is September 2011.

Is this old stock do you think?
Anyone with experience of this batch numbered chip?

This is a retail version, if that makes any difference?

it was the OEM versions that gibbo was on about but if it's the same batch it should be good.you should be able to get 5ghz.it's just a case of ,at what volts

The 2700k I got last week was a week 44 from costa, it was the week of 31oct-6th nov

just started an O.C. 1.37 gets me 4.6

using asus AI suite it gets me to 4.7 ish at 105.6 x 44 @ 1.35 vcore

(also managed to get to 5ghz with 1.4vcore - wanted to be a "member" of the sandybridge club XD)


how about yourself - any luck with the O.C?
