Hi,

I have an Asus p8z68-pro gen3 skt1155 motherboard.

Cpu 2700k has always been unstable, much worse now and I'm unsure to buy another or upgrade.

What's my best cpu to put into that board. Or am I best to sell the motherboard and buy a new upgraded cpu and board. I have 16gb ddr3 in the system.

The CPU is an ES, it had been abused with LN before I was given it.

It has always been flakey. I've had it at stock, kept all bios to stock and ram underclocked and It still kicks out random BSODs

I had a look on the bay for a 2600k, is it worth the extra 70 for the 3770k.

The 3770K is not worth the extra £70, they are nearly the same chip.
