Hi, I am using Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 LGA1155 motherboard on 2700k I changed multiplier to 46 resulting in 4.62 ghz overclock (boost)... But my voltage seems to be very very low... Is there something wrong, am I killing my CPU?

if that is truly at full load with those speeds and that voltage i would say no, you quite possibly have the best i7 chip on the planet i would imagine lol

Try opening Cpu-z to read the voltages off of that whilst benching :)
 
What does you bios tell you the vcore is? Low vcore won't hurt, infact, if you were really running at those volts, you might just get one humungous overclock.

On a more serious note, looks like CPU-Z is screwing you around.

Thats the problem... Bios is reading same values :(... I am worried that my cpu in fact is running at dangerous voltages.
 
Could try someting liek CPUID HWMonitor and see what that shows your vcore at, I would guesstimate that something isn't supported, as coretemp has your VID greyed out. 0.9v is far more likely to be your idle/speedtep voltage and its not changing when put under load.

As mentioned look in the bios and see what it says, however it might just say 'auto' unless you have changed it.

IF it is genuinely that speed at that vcore you could probably sell it for a hefty profit margin :p

I put it into stock, and voltage went up to 1.200 which I think is normal... The more you overclock the less is the voltage??? I think theres something wrong with mobo...
 
i also have this cpu but i cant seem to get it run at a higher clock speed.

i set the MP to 44 in bios which should give me 4.4 straight of the bat. problem is that when i start cpuz and run a game the MP and clock speed stay at stock settings.

my previous cpu was a core 2 duo and i never had this issue. is there something i doin wrong or is it a cpuz issue?

Its because i7 uses boost technology :) Just download AIDA or other software that will put strain on your CPU and you will see that it will rise to 4.4... Alternatively disable turbo boost in bios.

Use gigabayte smart6 (smart quick boost), restart computer... Download AIDA and launch a test. Or go into bios by pressing DEL... and it should display your full speed there. Or maybe you forget to press F10 in the bios...

wasnt aware there was a size restriction, how do i make it smaller?

bout smart6, is that just another way of overclocking? surely if i OC in bios it would be the same thing no? ive always read that its better to OC in bios as opposed to 3rd party software.
 
still no joy with this:(

i tried using smart6 but cpuz still doesnt show the OC even when running prime 95 or any apps.
 
you are very very lucky, my i7 hits 4.8 @ 1.36/7v!!!! if yours hits 4.6 at under 1v you will be looking at 5.2GHz easy with 1.38v!!!

can you please list you full bios settings? i would be interested to see what you are doing :)
