Just got the 2700k and CPU Z is showing core speed 1605.4mhz and then it goes to around 3800.7mhz and then drops back to 1605.4mhz
is that normal ?
AMount of boost will depend on how many cores are used. So single core under high load will cause the biggest boost of that one core.
Thanks debs3759 for the info and the fast reply mate !
Got a Asus P8 Z68 Deluxe Mobo
For that motherboard, you need to go into the BIOS Advanced menu, and select "CPU Configuration". To disable Speedstep, you will need to scroll down a bit until you see the line that says "Enhanced Intel Speedstep Technology". Click on "Enabled" to the right, and select "Disabled".
