I've been messing with a 2700X system it's on an Asus B450M-A prime ii board ( latest BIOS) with 16GB Trident Z 3000 Memory. I've used this memory at 3200 before without issue just by enabling the DOCP profile and upping the speed to 3200. It absolutely refuses to boot in this system at anything over 2933 though.

I had one of these CPUs before and it was rock solid on my X470 gaming Plus Max board with 3200 CL16 RAM.

I know anything over 2933 is technically overclocking. Is it likely that this CPU just has a particularly weak Memory controller or could I be missing something?
Thanks
Scott

I had this before on a board. Try with an even cas numbers and one of the oddball ratios 3333 etc. Another potential issue is if the board uses repeaters for memory signalling.

i had a 1600 and now a 3700x neither would run ram at anything over 2933 with the x370 board i had - i tried several different sets without joy. changed it to a b450 and the ram problem went away so could be board related too.

Not exactly the same issue but with 4 ram stick on my 3700X at XMP of 3600Mhz I was getting odd behaviour of PC freezing. I upped the RAM voltage to 1.38V and SOC 1.1V and haven't had a single issue in months.
