Up until recently, was using a 28" 1080p monitor as a "TV" in the bedroom connected to a PC for watching TV, no problem.

I recently had the chance to "re-purpose" it so thought would try it as a gaming monitor.

It just feels "awkward" being used that close but cannot put my finger on as to why. It was the same for gaming or desktop use.

I have a 34" 21:9 ultra wide on another rig and that gives me no problems, love using that thing but using the 28" as a desktop monitor was just fatiguing.

I have switched to a 22" and feels more comfortable for gaming and general use.

Me being odd or something else going off?

24inch is cut off for 1080p really. Pixelation is just way too obvious when am you are a couple of feet away from the display.

many 27 inches and above are marketed as gaming monitors at FHD. Unless you use it for pure gaming only it you have 2 screens the one 1080p you game on then that’s fine. But even with windows desktop icons and opening browsers etc will look silly.

Also on screen real estate. 1080p on a 27inch is seriously limiting in terms how many thing you can see on the active window. It is just not really usable. Even having office application open is difficult not to mention outlook and webpages.

It is not the pixelation specifically which bothers me, it just feels awkward in general. The 22" feels better to use.

As said though, the 21:9 is larger but is fine to use.

When gaming, it feels as though the FOV is off.

It must be the resolution at such short distance messing with my brain in some way.
