...has just started on CH 4. Scared the crap out of me first time I saw it, the monsties are just so damn freaky.

Anyway if you haven't seen it before watch it! Anyone else like this film? :)

Yeah i enjoyed it for the first couple of times, but i overwatched it and it got a little lame. Enjoy!

Thought the first half of the movie was good then it just went downhill.

How so?

It's one of my favourite films i think, although after watching it tonight i think i have seen it too many times. The alternative ending at the end was quite cool (although nothing amazing). :)

Right, firstly, I liked this film. However, everytime it's mentioned, I have to make a point that when I was in Year 8, I wrote a short story with practically exactly the same plot as in 28 Days Later, with the exception that I didn't mention any monkeys. I got an A on it. I really can't emphasise how similar my story was to this film, so I was just a little  when I first saw it.

Grr.

It was OK until it got to the army barracks bit, then it became extremely lame.

Agreed. Watched it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. And they blew up a 99 Turbo in the petrol station, so that gets a thumbs down to  :p

I think James Herbert might feel the same way.

EDIT: Found the book I wa sthinking of.

James Herbert - '48"In 1945, Hitler unleashes the Blood Death on Britain as his final act of vengeance. Hoke, an american pilot and one of a tiny minority with a rare blood group unaffected by the deadly disease, has survived alone among the debris and the dead of London for three years. Now, in '48, a slow-dying group of Facist Blackshirts believe their only hope is a complete transfusion of blood from one of Hoke's kind. Ever more desperate as their deaths approach, they're after his blood. Running for his life, Hoke is rescued by other survivors and together they're pursued in a spectacular but deadly chase through London's ravaged streets and historic landmarks, reaching a dramatic and explosive climax at the top of Tower Bridge."

It's a great film, but I couldn't help but think of Scarecrow from Batman Begins when I watched it last night. Some very well made shots in the film, the empty London, M6, burning Manchester. And it's bloody gruesome too, the thumbs in the eyes  :D

I forgot how gory it was too, Selena and her machette - ouch!

I watched The Quiet Earth a couple of weeks back. 28 Days Later seems to erm, 'borrow' a lot of the shots and ideas, heh. Good film actually, although a bit more sci-fi.

thought it was awesome when i first saw it, but like others have said when the army soldiers come into it, it loses its edge and all the atmosphere gets sucked out of it, the first half though is truly chilling, and personally i reckon something like it could happen.

I didn't think it was very scarey, though it was a bit sick in places! It lost it half way through though, and i didn't really know what was going on. Better than i thought it would be though!

Society just makes us more 'civil' savages. We still kill, mame and destroy but now we do it in a more sophisticated and efficent way than the so called 'uncivilised' nations of the world. Food and fuel is what is is all about, take these away and you will see the savage beast in even the most seren, gentle peace activist.

As for the film, it was ok.
