A mate and I were looking for something on a competitor’s website this afternoon and saw this film was in stock, so we headed down to Blockbuster (not having known it was out yet) to rent it out.

Ok, so what the hell did it achieve? It was merely a bridge between the first and final film (tbc?) to make up a possible trilogy. I liked the general style but the CG smoke elements were far too obvious. I guess it was a bit creepy and we did have a 40 minute "what would you do in that situation" conversation but it wasn't really scary either. For something that only lasted about an hour and a half, it seemed to go on for a long time. Also, I recognise the actress who played the teenage girl from something but can’t put a name on it.

What did you think?

It was just too generic hollywood for my liking. Effects and visually pleasing but with no substance. They also added grain and tried to make it look uber-low budget too.

SPOILER: Also the whole method by which the virus got out again was rubbish. They didn't even show the scene where the infected bloke escapes the room.

I thought it was pretty good, was very atmospheric at the cinema and quite intense in places, although I only got this effect from the cinema.

There were far too many plot holes though, I mean why the hell would the quarantine zone be inside section 1 where all the survivors were, no way would that happen in real life.

Awul films- the only horrorific thing about it is the thought of the American millitary occupying the UK- which was intended, I think, but badly done. I like Danny Boyles other films too.

I thought the sudden ending was a bit rubbish, it was o.k up until then, then I was just left wondering what just happenned.

Well the infection spread in Paris due to the boy carrying it. I thought the ending was pretty decent and I really enjoyed the rest of the movie too. The first opening scenes were really intense.

I really liked it. I do tend to like horror movies though. Gory, scary, dark, decent performances, interesting idea.

It wasn't that great IMO. Good Friday night flick though... certainly not cringeworthy at any time. Just a means to an end type of film.

I thought it was diaboloical to be honest, and this is coming from a fan of the first film.

First 10-20 mins were great, when he had to escape from the house, but the rest was just Hollywood bull, far too Americanised :(

i thought it was a pretty good film, though there was some strange/questionable scenes like how did he break out and why they only locked one door to the carpark where they were held, i mean sure they knew there was two doors? idiots

but yes the girl is definately fit and i 3rd the spine snapping motion

Haha, I got that I was just surprised with how suddenly it ended. One minute everyone was being chased by zombies then suddenly they are on a chopper and the titles go up. I was expecting a bit more of a finale!
