Upgraded from a 6850 to a 280x bought from OCUK a few days ago, noticed some rather irritating flickering when on desktop applications- works fine in games. Any reason why the card is doing this? Is it faulty? The screens were updating fine when I had the 6850 in

I brought the same 280x a few days ago as well & I to am starting to get artifacts when gaming.
At first I thought it was the overclock, even though it was quite a mild one (30mhz core 100mhz memory), but I'm starting to notice them even at stock speeds.

Temps for the card are around 60-65c so it's not overheating.

Seems my artifacts are back.
Going to reinstall the drivers & perhaps try a different set. Failing that it maybe time to RMA the card.

So, I've managed to fix it - I think, a few days without it flickering. Difference is I wasn't getting any artifacting in games/ furmark.

I've done the same, run a couple of games & seems better, this is at stock speeds.
Have yet to see how they react to Overclocking.
Strange how my previous R270x had no problems.

Is this a 280X Gaming? I have just RMA'd one for artifacts, now its replacement is giving me screen flickering on the desktop.

I'll try the 13.10 drivers on the disk first, I'm currently on 13.12 (the latest). Anyone else found any fix?

This thread (especially post #19) shows exactly the same symptoms, looks like it's a driver issue.
