Right Yesterday i ordered a HIS r9 280x iceqx2 card to pair with my gigbyte 7970.

Well it seems what ever card is in the first slot boils really reall quick the other one seems fine.

in Games it goes up above 83 + and mining well i dont bother as soon as it hit 90c

Both cards have this issue if in the first slot.

Could i sperate the cards have 1 in first one in third slot ?

Would there be an issue with PCie lanes ?

I am using a gigabyte Z87 oc.

The temps are worse with the side of the case on which is a 540t.

Cheers for the help... if i cant get this cool going to have to RMA card and would rather not :)

You mean the Z87X-OC board?

You have the second card in the wrong slot then, the second slot is a PCIe x4 slot, meaning you're running x8/x4 crossfire at the moment (with the x4 bottlenecking the setup). You want the second card to be in the third slot for x8/x8 crossfire.

The board goes like this:

PCIe 3.0 x16 (drops to x8 when there's a card in the second and/or third slot)

PCIe 3.0 x4

PCIe 3.0 x8 (drops to x4 when there's a card in the second slot)

PCIe 2.0 x4 (chipset controlled, shares lanes with x1 slot)
