Just fitted my 280X today and wanting to make sure everything's working as intended.. so I'd appreciate it if I could get confirmation that everything's doing fine!
Only played one game so far for about 20~ish minutes and that was Dark Souls. Not the most intensive game and capped at 30 fps but I maintained a temp of around 40-45 degrees whilst playing the game, with ~60-70% gpu usage. Going to do some more tests soon with the likes of BF4 and some other things so will update!
My specs are as follows:
i5-2500
8gb 1600
MSI R9 280X OC edition
Asrock Z68 (PCI-E 2.0)

Seems to be sitting at 31 degrees now whilst just browsing the internet with a stream in the background.

Sounds good. Need to give it some proper load with a demanding game and then report back. BF4, Sleeping Dogs, Crysis 3, Farcry 3. All good at stressing a gpu.

Ok. Going to install BF4 now and also Sleeping Dogs and give them a run in single player for a few minutes, shall report back.

Look at 7970 benches too, it's essentially the same card.

Temps should be hitting around 70-80 degrees when fully loaded, less if you've got a decent after market cooler.

Edit:

Bit-tech reviewed your card here:

Looks like your temps should be lower than 70-80 with that cooler.
Hmm that's strange. Just had a look up and found this at tomshardware:

Give them 20-30 minutes each. ;)

Will do :p

Played the first 15-20 mins of BF4 with Ultra settings (default ultra AA) and got these temps/usage/fan speed. What do you guys think? Seemed to sit steadily at 76 degrees throughout the entire play, I think this is a decent temp?

Also FPS for single player was a steady 50-70 fps depending on where I was, and my motions etc. Is this OK for my spec?
Might pop into a multiplayer game in a bit and see how that goes.
