I have an h100i at present for my 4770k.
I want to put my 290 flashed to 290x under water as well and i see a lot say you may as well do both at the same time.
I have no experience in water cooling custom loops etc, and want it so i can add to the loop in the future if i add a second gpu for instance.

I have a Bitfenix ronin case and hope this will be good enough to cope with my needs as its very new, I will be able to sell my h100i to recoup some of the costs.
Can someone please spec me a custom loop, i have no idea of costs but if i can do it for less than £250 id be happier lol.
My 290 is on air at present and is sooo noisy, will need a water block for it plus everything else.

Thanks for looking :)

You'll need more than a 240 rad for a 4770k and 290 I would think.

Not familiar with your case, is there room at the bottom for another radiator?

You can put a 240mm rad in the front and top with that case.

- Cooling Front: 2 x 120mm
- Cooling Top: 2 x 120mm or 2 x 140mm

Something like this?

YOUR BASKET
1 x XSPC Razor R9 290X / 290 VGA Waterblock £94.99
1 x XSPC X2O 750 Dual Bayres/Pump (Black) V4 £59.98
2 x Hardware Labs Black ICE Radiator GT Stealth 240 - XFlow £36.98 (£73.96)
2 x Corsair SP120 Quiet Series High Pressure Low Noise - Dual Pack (CO-9050006-WW) £25.99 (£51.98)
2 x Mayhems X1 Blood Red Coolant £7.99 (£15.98)
2 x Primochill Primoflex Advanced Tubing 16/11 - Clear £5.99 (£11.98)
10 x XSPC G1/4" to 1/2" ID, 3/4" OD Compression Fitting (Chrome) £3.49 (£34.90)
Total : £353.40 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Did you get any advice before buying that case asking if it would be suitable for a custom loop?

Judging by the spec for that case i would say its not suitable for what you want to do without some modding, standardly it seems it will take a 240 rad in the top, you could probably put one in the front too. Giving you a total of 480mm for cooling the GPU and CPU, Should be ok i reckon.

You could use a Bay Res Pump combi like the XSPC stuff, slap that in the front, then route it to the rads and blocks etc. Should work fine.

Peronsally if it was me, i would look at a better case suited for a loop before going down that route.

mmm more than i was hoping but i know it would pay dividends in the long run, as for the case no i didnt ask for a custom loop when i asked about building the system.

If you can stretch to it I'd go for a better pump than the X20 pump/res like a D5. Costs more initially but a much better bet for the long term in case you add another GPU/more rads into the loop in future.

tbh ive never really been super impressed by Bitfenix cases, the low end Shinobi is good value for money, but the rest are a bit meh, but thats a personal opinion.

I would have advised if you even thought about eventually putting a custom loop in then you should have looked at the Bitfenix Colossus if you like that brand, or a Corsair 700 or my personal favourite Phanteks Enthoo Primo.

Saying that though, people have been putting loops in Corsair 540 Air and that things tiny in comparison :)
