290 cf with 3xx?

They should given they are based on the same GPU, but don't quote me on that.

It is yes, but it wouldn't be worth it imo, as the 390 has an extra 4GB Vram, that you would lose, unless you've got one of the 8GB 290s that were about.

It is yes, it would work but as LoadsaMoney said, you'd lose 4GB VRAM on the 390.

I didn't think you could crossfire cards with different amounts of Vram?

Yeah you can, you just get the vram from the card with the smallest amount.
