290 Fans spin up on boot

OK so when I booted my system up this morning I noticed that the fans on my 290 went a bit in to over drive ..and for about 10 seconds they were spinning up quite a bit.....i have never known that before on this card been using it a while ...any reson why they would spin up like that out of the blue ?

Funnily enough 1 of mine's did the same thing last night, I think it's an issue with the new omega drivers but who knows.

I'm wondering if I should go back to Nvidia ...I have an MSI 780

the omega drivers done the same on my xfx r9 280.. ran at full pelt for a few seconds then quietened down... played some games... never span up fast again

Mine do that every now and then, spin up to max for a few seconds during loadup.

I think its normal, they do it at intervals to blow the dust out.
