I can't use the search function on my phone for some reason so apologies if this has been asked before.

Picked up a R9 290 with Reference Cooler for £150 today and wondered what the cheapest ways were to improve the cooling and noise. I have some thermal paste left over from my 212 evo so was thinking of reapplying the paste that came on the GPU. But other than that what options are there?

Cheers!

Gelid Icy Vision would work. I have one and under load with no overclocking or voltage it goes as high as 75c on the core. For £30 you can't go wrong with it if like me the sound of a reference cooler makes your ears hurt. I'd try and repaste the reference though first just to see if it makes a difference, the Gelid comes with decent TIM so don't worry about that either :)

This, I used a gelid on my old r9 290 but had to buy extra brackets for it if i remember correct. Overclocked I never saw it hit 60 with the gelid icy vision 2 with extra heatsinks on
