Hey im thinking of buying a second hand gpu it seems there around the same price £150 £170 i have a stealthxstream 650 or 600 watt psu i will be using a fx8320 monitor is 1920x1080 what graphic card should i get?

thanks GothicCorpse

I had a 280x and a 290 which are both great but the 290 is a lot better :D

So 290 is the answer as its great 'band for buck'

you see a lot of 290s on sale with the same 1 fan bog standard heat sink design isnt that the ones that get problems with heating? think people call it re 1s?

The 1 fan models will be reference AMD design cards. Yes AMD cards do tend to run a bit hotter, use more power than an equivalent nvidia card. But theyre still within safe limits.

lol :) i dont mind loud fans i have 4 dogs and there always making noises but if its just the noise and no other issues like artifacts or heating issues then i dont mind at all :) is there a make i should definely stay away from? as in like asus or gigbyte or so on?

The 290 is a decent step up from the 280X, and is the best "bang for buck" card out there. Really the 280X is like the GTX770, it's overshadowed from above by the 290 or GTX970, and from below there is better value from the 280 or GTX760.
