Wanting to get a 290 to fit a waterblock on. I am aware that Sapphire cards have the warranty invalidated when the stock cooler is removed.

Does anyone know which AMD partner card does not have this imposition and this maintains the warranty when stock cooler is changed?

Which card do you have? Reference cards are ok,bt ideally check with who you bought it from. While OcUK maybe happy the cooler is carefully removed, others may not be.

My MSI 780 is still under warranty provided I send it back with the original cooler fitted.

Do MSI state that this is acceptable in their warranty? If so maybe MSI is the way forward.

Wanting to get a card, not got yet.

There are a few partners@oCuk that allow cooler removal-VTX, Powercolor, MSI and possibly Sapphire (which doesn't have warranty void stickers), it's advisable to drop CS a query just to make sure though.

Power color, MSI or vtx for amd cards on water. I think his are OK with it too, though may be dependent on you purchasing from Ocuk.

Thanks, but does this apply to cards purchased to Ocuk only, are there any manufacturers that allow removal? Reason being I would like to try getting a used one to save on costs.

MSI cards that I purchased (780Ti) have got warranty void stickers on screws. However, I emailed MSI customer service and they confirmed as long as card wasn't damaged during removal and original cooler was re-installed prior to any potential RMA, their warranty would remain in tact. Worth contacting them personally though, so you have it in writing that the warranty would remain.

Unfortunately, most warranties are non-transferrable bud. So you would need to rely on the original purchaser helping you out in the event of needing anything returned.

I only know of EVGA on the nvidia side doing a fully transferrable warranty.

Will need to keep that in mind, and try to purchase from someone as mentioned - willing to help out.

If you buy a sapphire card from ocuk you can remove the cooler and put a block on without voiding the warranty. Pretty sure it's in the original 290 thread in the news section somewhere.

As above though best to ask in CS section to clarify.

I can second this, as I checked with MSI staff on the forums and also with OCUK and both said it would be fine. MSI said the stickers are mainly there to put off people who don't know what they're doing from randomly removing the cooler and breaking something :)

MSI, Sapphire, Powercolor and VTX are the brands but only from OCuk and when you send it back for RMA, you must send the product back 'as bought' original heatsink attached.

If buying to do some serious clocking, i would go for Sapphire Tri-x version, the PCB is reference but has Hynix memory and the cooler is an awesome fall back if you run into water problems.
