290 xfire - Battlefield 4 stuttering

Here is mine, odd thing is that it doesn't show VRAM.

ScreenshotWin32-0003.png

With DirectX I get CPU and GPU spikes, with Mantle only CPU spikes. Additionally if I have HT off I get 100% CPU utilisation, with HT on I get 25-40% and one of the HTs is maxed.

I have tried:
- 1, 2 or 3 cards
- Resolutions
- Graphics levels
- Drivers
- Fresh reinstalls
- RAM
- SDD
- Over and under clocks

This call started 2ish weeks ago and before that the same setup was fine. :(

Add this to your user.cfg

Thread.MaxProcessorCount 12

Also use CoreParkingManager, i had used 'unpark cores' before this and found that 4 of my cores were still parked after checking it with system monitor II. CoreParkingManager was the only thing that unparked them.

Thanks for the replies.

- just double checked my cores are unparked
- I have tried stock and underclocked - Made no difference
- the MaxProcessorCount is meant to be a duff I thought, but I will give it a try

OK, so kept digging on this one and Humbug's post gave me an idea. Whilst that command is a bad one to use, if used in the profile file it actually resets everything to a sort of default/custom config.

See my post her:http://battlelog.medalofhonor.com/bf4/forum/threadview/2979150493998015861/last/post_2979150494000414197

I have tried clean configs, and changing all sorts of settings, but nothing helps, so I can only assume it is a setting I can't access that it messes with.

It isn't perfect but it at least allows me to use crossfire and BF4.

I had stutter in BF4 after the last patch.. i just deleted the user.cfg file.. ran BF4 without the cfg file (it ran smooth again) then closed the game and added a new config file with the same commands and now its running smooth again with the cfg file :)

Also had to do this myself before. My user.cfg got corrupted and loads of weird stuff got added to it lol. Made it read only since then. :)

I get a stutter in bf4 when using msi afterburner. Change the update frequency in the monitor tab to 60000 and it goes away every time. Go figure.....

I find setting the monitoring to 2000 (2 seconds) does the job for me. What OS are you using?

Windows 8.1. Anything less than 20000 (20secs) shows the problem. I just put it at 60000 as it takes it out of the equation and I use other monitor programs so don't need it...

Have you tried disabling ULPS and enabling unified gpu usage monitoring via afterburner and leaving it set at 2000?
