2900 XT issues (artifacts?)

Hey

Just got my 2900 XT, and seem to be having a few issues right of the bat, so thought I'd post to make sure in case it's not just me. Firstly is ATI Tool, installed v0.26 it to check the temperatures of the card, but instead it just artifacted the screen badly, and didn't load the program in. I tried v0.27 beta2 and that one seems to load in fine and works.

Secondly is 3dMark06, wanted to run a benchmark to double check any problems after seeing the issues with ATI Tool, but it doesn't load the program in. Instead I get stuck at the splash screen for ages (using the basic version, 1.1.0) and eventually artifacts start appearing when I open stuff or do stuff in the background whilst it's loading. It also just uses 50% cpu resources on core1 until I forcefully close it with Task Manager. Have let it run at the splash screen for 10 minutes max, but it doesn't do anything.

Anyone had any similar problems or can offer any advice? Thanks!

Found a fix for 3DMark06, apparantly it's some file in the system32/Futuremark/MSC folder that won't properly detect the 2900 XT clocks and it won't let the program open. So go to that folder, and rename the file "Direcpll.dll" to "Direcpll.dll.bak" or similar and that should solve it.

Managed to get 8998 3dmarks which seems low, guessing that it's because of my cpu?

Also still confused over the artifacts.
