2900Pro Issues.

Hey, I just got my Sapphire 2900pro from OCUK today.

I plugged it in to the 6-pin connect from my CPU, and plugged it into my PCIe slot, then plugged my VGA monitor into the VGA>DVI converter then into the card.

I turned on my PC, the card was working fine, the fan was spinning and the light was on, but I was getting no picture on my monitor, just a flashing power light.

I took out the converter, and then go the usual no-signal monitor I get when my monitor is plugged into nothing.

Can anyone help me out here?

I don't think my PSU has an 8-pin, but it's less than a year old.

I read that the 8-pin wasn't needed, and the card itself seems to be booting as the fan is spinning and the light is on.

The light on my monitor flashes as soon as I plug in the converter. It's like my monitor thinks its plugged in when it isn't.

What do you mean I need the 2 6 pins? I can only see a 6pin and an 8pin.

Ah cool, so one of the 6pins from the PSU into the 6pin slot, and I guess one of the Molex>6pin connecter also goes in. Could you tell me where the molex part is likely to go?

It came with two cables like that, but they only have one Molex connector on each cable.

I found a cable coming out of my power supply so I will try inserting one of the cables in that.

Does anyone know if the sapphire 2900 comes with an adaptor? My psu only has 1 6-pin

Yeah, it comes with 2 Molex>6pin adaptors

Ok, so I installed the card and anything seems to be going fine, but I have a few problems which are bugging me abit.

1) Whenever I load a map on QW:ET, it's like my computer stutters, and everyone on Teamspeak breaks up really bad.
2) When I open Xfire in QW:ET, my FPS goes down to about 2-3.
4) Goal replays on FIFA07 also run at about 2 FPS, even though the game runs fine.
3) Whenever I boot my PC, Hardware Wizard keeps asking me to install High Definition Microsoft Audio Drivers, automatically switching my Sound to the Realtek Drivers when I boot up.

None of these problems occured before I installed my card.

But in regards to point 1), it occurs whilst i'm loading the map, not just as I enter it.

It runs it ok, I havn't tried it with max AA and everything yet though
