2900pro performance over 2 2600xt

I personally reckon that PSU should be fine mate, was a good find at the price, as after having a look around, it seems places are selling the 550w version for over £30 :)
 
From a quick check I've noticed a few people mention it's not so quiet but that's all. Otherwise it seems fine.
 
dont mean to be hijacking the thread, but J.D. is your 3800 a 939 .....if so can i have the settings to get 2.8 ;)

Im getting 2x 2600xt's in the next week and supposedly the high clock on the cpu the better they response (as mentioned by Gareth)
 
SKT 939 - 10X multi @ 280FSB on a 180 or 166 divider (I just drew a blank trying to remember :o). 1.475vcore. 3x HTT.

Max voltage I'd go for is 1.55v on air. Also don't just jump straight up to 2.8Ghz. Work your way up and that way it will be easier to see when stability issues hit.

Thanks, nah I wont turn into mav lol, I promise!, will still have this card in untill like 11 tonight so time to run some benchys if windows decides to work.

Could be more than a few days, when I fried me ram it was 8 :p.
 
cool im hitting a wall at 2.7ghz, at 1.475 volts.....posts into windows, but doesnt stay stable. Running a freezer 64 so even at that, core temp reckon cpu is only at 40 idle-50 degrees max load
 
as anyone got this GA-M55S-S3 motherboard or knows about it?

when im running a program in windows, if it uses between 1-50% of the cpu , the vcore goes up to 1.46v and if a program/game uses 100% of the cpu ,the vcore goes up to 1.52v... i've tryed two different softwares "EVEREST Ultimate Edition" and "SiSoftware Sandra Lite XIIc" both give the same reading...

its at stock speed..
 
AMD Cool N Quiet ajusting voltage to suite the demands of the host system or you have a poor psu that can not handel the voltage loads.

yes i would understand that if Cool N Quiet was enabled but it isn't.. my cpu as a range of 1.40 - 1.45v with coolnquiet disabled, with coolnquiet enabled its 1.10 - 1.45v.. but when the cpu is 100% in uses the vcore goes over 1.45v to 1.52v even if Cool N Quiet enabled or disabled still the same.. when it goes to 1.52v the +12v drops a little, also the fans noises drop alittle..
