Okay looking at the new 2900pro; AMD's site is saying you need a 550watt psu.

Then in recommened PSU's it goes on to list the Corsair 520watt.

So here is my question will my current (out of pruduction) 530watt tagan handle it?
And if so is it not listed due to it being an old model?

Thanks in advance :)

What are the amps on the rails? You need like combined amps of near 30 I believe or something like that! :) You can check on the label on the psu usually :)

Okay i have to rails and a switch on the back that says "switch mode" or "combined mode". First what does this do; will it help me?
And second i think each rail has 25amps on it

It would be combined as you have two rails going in :) If each has 25amps you'll be fine

Sounds like you have the same PSU as mine.

Each rail can take upto 20A but the total available amperage for +12V rails is 33A. Leave the switch at "split mode", you only need to switch it to "combine" when the small blue light is on, which indicates that the amperage on one of your +12V rails has exceeded the maximum allowed on a single rail (20A).

Yes it will handle the card just fine. The recommended wattage of 550W is just an indicative figure for people who have more generic PSUs. As long as your PSU has enough juice on the +12V rail it will handle the card just fine.

okay cheers for the help looks like this PSU will keep on going through another up grade; good old Tagan!
