Does the "Chuck Patch" work in Oblivion on the 2900XT 512? Or do the new drivers support HDR & AA anyway? Little unsure as to if it works or not. Plus what are the best drivers currently availiable for the XT? Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers :)

I think you just have to use the CCC to overide the application settings and pick the AA setting of your choice :)

Ah great cheers :) Didnt know if you still had to use the patch or not. Are the 8.4 beta drivers the way to go at the minute?

Cheers :D

Sorry for the questions I have another one though thats confusing me. Do I use the 8 Pin PCI-E power connecter & the 6 Pin one at the same time? or is it just one or the other?

Cheers

Yep, I run the same, and the performance is very good in the latest set

Both, iirc, I have 2x6's and it runs fine.

Brilliant cheers mate :) Have a corsair 520w Modular PSU on order, I heard they have the 8 Pin on them already so I can connect an 8 & 6 Pin I take it? Do you have a link for the drivers? Cant seem to find a reliable source.

Cheers :)

Both. You can use two 6 pin connectors if you dont want to overclock. But an 8 pin and 6 pin is obiously recomendable.

As above, either 8x Pin + 6x Pin, or 6x Pin + 6x Pin.

You can overclock with 2x 6x Pins fine also, all the 8x Pin is needed for is to ungrey the Overdrive in the drivers so you can use that to overclock, but with 2x 6x Pins connected the Overdrive is greyed out so you can't select it, so you just use ATi Tool to overclock instead. :p

Heard lots of speculation about the 'safety' of using 8 pin over 6pin during overclocking, but I wonder if it actually makes any difference?

Matthew

I've never heard any reduction in the safety of the card if you use 2x6's, but if you have an 8 pin, you might as well use it, all the 8 pin does is enable overclocking via CCC itself, as apposed to a separate app.
