2900xt noise levels

Hi,

I'm looking to get a 2900xt to replace my 1800xt but was wondering how loud the fan is when idle. I replaced the 1800xt's cooler with a an Accelero as it was too loud to leave running overnight in my bedroom. How does the 2900xt hsf compare to the stock 1800xt's when idle?

At idle it is very quiet, under load it becomes audible over my case fans but with my speakers on I can barely hear it.

It hasn't distracted me yet, but when I listen for it the fan is pretty loud under load (inaudible at idle in my case). Loud enough that I am considering watercooling just for the GPU.
Like I say though, unless your case is by your face, with the side off (mine is ), it shouldnt be an issue.

I was going to say lol Its just audible when it hits load in games over the case fans but once the speakers are on I cant hear it.

Cool sounds good. So all i need to do now is work out if myTagan 480w psu can take the load, only 28A for 12V.

4gb ram
P35 mobo
3 sata HD's
2 optical
dual head TV tuner card
sound card
5 yate loon 120mm fans on 7v

That psu should be fine. I'm running my 2900 XT off a 520w tagan with 32A (combined) on the 12v. I'd be amazed if it wouldn't run on your psu.

I just put a delta 120 in my case for a laugh.

And guess what

I cant hear my 2900Xt at all.

So is it loud, NO.
