2900XT vs 8800GTX Image comparison.

wow there is quite a diffrence there, the ati images are blurry and softer looking. NV looks sharp and the trees seem to show this more.

Hope thats a driver bug!

the nvidia shots have crisper details for sure
the 24x AA one looks very blurry

its a whole new filter, but check out the leaves much more softer i cannot find a jaggie on 24x even if you zoom in, on 16x you can see slight jaggies if you zoom fully in.

try it, download these two images below and zoom fully on windows and fax viewer, you wont find a single jaggie on 24x but on 16x you can find them.

Two oblivion AA screenshots to compair AA modes on my 2900 XT

Sorry there not taken in same place couldnt remember where i took the other 1st one when i took the 2nd, but yeh you can tell big difference anyway.

Screenshots are 1680x1050 PNG format

The 2nd screenshot looks sharper but personally i pfer the 1st one as the leave's on the trees seem softer

1st one, 24x Wide Tent AA, 100% Full everything else

2nd one, 16x Box AA, 100% full everything else

fair enough but are we going to notice these tiny little jagged edges in game?

Nope not at all, but thats why it has a verry slight blured/softer effect at 24xaa which i pfer personally :)

I'm suprised to hear anyone could prefer the blurry one!

I take it you can make the XT look more like the GTX with a lower setting?

yup you can, just use the box filter.

it doesnt make it blurry at 24x Wide tent filter when your playing, it just soften's it so it looks more real time realistic..

hard to explain if you dont see it for your own eyes

The G80 screens are nicer for sure. The lines between the stone work on the church look nice and crisp. Whereas, as stated by others, on the ATi card they just looked smudged together. :(
