Hi all
Installed my 2nd 290X earlier and I'm a bit confused by something. I have a Gigabyte Z87X-OC (non-Force) and (latest) GPU-Z is showing them as running at 8x PCI-E 3.0 which is obviously right (when using the test in GPU-Z)
The confusion arises as I'm also running a PCI-E soundcard (Asus DX) in the bottom 16x slot which theoretically should knock the cards down lower due to the Z87 having 16 lanes max. Is GPU-Z right?? I should also state that while I'm getting sound ok, device manager is throwing up an error related to the soundcard but again I seem to be getting sound fine.
Any ideas?
