290x Lightning help needed

Hi all

I need some help with my 290X Lightning. I have just received my second card after I had to RMA my first. I have read a few articles saying the card has issues with the new drivers and i will have to the a bios update if i wish to use them due to the fans not working properly with the newer drivers. Is this correct are there any 290X lightning uses here who can point me in the right direction.

I have never upgraded the bios on a GPU and would have no idea were to start. I have checked the MSI website but i can't see any bios updates.

Please help a noob.

I run a 290X Lightning and no problems here with the fans and latest drivers. I think the problem existed with the early Lightnings and driver conflicts so Msi issued a Bios update. If in doubt download the Msi Fan control utility.

If you've just had a replacement no doubt it will be on the revised Bios anyhow.

thank you guys for the replies, checked with MSI and i do have the latest bios. just a quick question how has your cards clocked and what sort of temp are you guys getting. What is classed as to hot for these cards?

Mine runs in the low 60s.
Too hot would be 95C I suppose, though I doubt you would ever see that on the Lightning.
