290x or 970

Im going to take they plunge today and get a new gpu. I was all set to get the msi 970 since I've heard good things about it but now with the price drop on the 290x would that be a better choice?

If you want performance then the 970 is faster when overclocked.

However it is more expensive. The 290x is a good card but will run hotter and use more power.

Basically it's swings and roundabouts. Choose the card that has the feature set you want.

Both run games, if your case is tight and doesnt have good air flow get the 970.

if you on a budget go with a 290

if you not get a 970 gtx.
