So I ran the 3DMark Fire Strike benchmark and got the following score:

The GPU score seems to be much lower than the reviews for the 290X.

I'm using Windows 8.1 with a Crosshair V-Z, FX 9590 and 8Gb 1866 RAM.

Any ideas? This is a fresh install of Windows, and when I previously ran 3DMark I scored much higher.

Thanks for the replies. I will run a GPU-Z log tonight. I do have the latest chipset drivers, but also the AMD beta drivers. Maybe this is the cause? Although it wouldn't explain why the cpu score is low too. The only other thing I have changed is to update my BIOS to the latest.

The 14.1 drivers gimped DirectX across the board for me (I was getting less than half the FPS in some games!)

Took an OS reinstall to fix.

I'm only getting 11.5k on mine...

Windows 8.1 is no good for that bench. Best is 8.0 second is 7. The best driver for the bench is 13.11 Beta 7.

Maybe your CPU is holding you back abit on the GT's also.

Aaaaaaah so it's most likely the 14.1 beta drivers! Please say there's a way to rollback without an OS reinstall? I'm sure there was an official driver cleaner somewhere.

Another problem with Windows 8.1 then, first it broke all USB devices with it's crazy power saving setting and now it's bad for 3DMark too. I would put 8 back on but there is one feature of 8.1 I can't live without (the search everywhere.)

I'm pretty sure something else is borked too, as I now can't save my BIOS settings (just hangs).

Use ATiman Uninstall, epic piece of sfotware, blows driver cleaner into the weeds IMHO. Uninstall CAT's first,. then use this reboot and install fresh!

So I rolled back to the 13.12 drivers (ATiman wouldn't run for some reason, so used another tool) and now my Firestrike numbers look much healthier. Got a 60-70% improvement in FPS on the graphics tests. Those beta drivers are properly mashed.

Getting around 8700 now, but my physics score is still the same. I have no idea how alex_123_fra got such a high physics score from an 8320 at 4.8, as even running my 9590 fixed at 5.1 doesn't come close
