Hello,
First let me state before the 290x I had been loyal to nvidia since my 3870x2's died after 3 months, I chose the 290x because of its power and ability to run multiple displays.

I build a new machine with the following parts all parts are running stock or auto settings.
MSI R9 290x latest none beta driver
gigabyte z97x gamer 5 (bios updated to most recent) all drivers updated.
Super Flower 1000w platinum psu
16gb Team Group Vulcan
480gb intel overclocked ssd
2* 2tb hd
Sennheiser 363d headphones
Asus Optical Drive
Windows 7 home premium fully updated SP1+
Peripherals
Aivia K8100 keyboard
Logitech G600 mouse
Logitech G13 pad
Saitek X52 flight control stick.

Main Monitor Iiyama prolite 27 1920*1080 DVI D
Media monitor (house TV) Finlux 47" LED 3D 100hz 1920*1080 HDMI

Now after the build I started to notice mouse cursor corruption and full screen white freeze, it happened 3 times in a day,

At this point I double checked everything could find no cause
Prime 95 ran fine
Aida stability test fine.
Games all ran fine except for this issue which happened both while idle and while I looked at a youtube video.

As a last ditch effort I removed the hdmi going just single monitor and no errors, no freeze no crash at all for 48 hours.

Reconnected the HDMI and 2 hours later my mouse cursor started to corrupt into wavy lines and pixels.

I need to sort this out, this isn't just a games pc and media centre it is a lifeline, my wife is very ill and will not get better unfortunately she has been house bound for the last 14 years and we have over 100 series and 6000+ films on a nas drive, which helps a lot for both of us not going stir crazy, it is all hooked up through our rooter and she is now having to watch shows on her smart phone because the media tv is not working how it should be.

At this point if I can not get this card working for dual display in a stable way I will have to save up and grab a 780 because we never had this problem on nvida cards.

Hi Calranthe,

Sorry to hear of the problems you're having.

Could you set up your trust account on OcuK so i can contact you via email? You should be able to do this within the UserCP control panel. If not can you send me an email by clicking the trust button at the bottom of my message and me and my team will get back to you as soon as possible to try and help you fix this issue. Thanks.

Problem solved, it seems it is a problem some others have had, how I fixed it was buy a display port to hdmi cable and for some reason it works :)

Summary
DVD-D to Monitor + HDMI to HDMI 47" Finlux = bad
DVD-D to Monitor + Display port to HDMI 47" Finlux = good.
No sound disruption, no freezes, working perfectly on games, youtube and films.

Thank you Matt for the offer of help :) it is appreciated.
